PRESIDENT SARAH'S KICK OFF MEETING
 
Sarah shared a little about herself
- Loves wine, snow, hiking and paddle boarding
- Undergraduate education at NYU and lived in New York City with Husband
- Graduate degree at University of Toronto
- Postdoctoral research at UC Berkeley
- Director - Zone 7 Waterboard
- Past President of Delta Conveyance project 
 
 
Cadence of Meetings
- very similar with monthly socials or community events on 4th meeting of the month
- Song, Joke and thought of Day optional based on contents of meeting, especially when overpacked
- Once a month Chalk talk (sports) by Edward Schumann

Katie presented on the focus on community events and loves to receive emails from all members with suggestions and participation. See at end of grapevine for upcoming events.
 
- requesting backpacks for Tri-Valley Haven fundraiser
- requesting drivers for meals on wheels delivery to seniors - 2 hour shift
- need a few members for Goodness Village Marty food truck - Contact Katie
 
 
 
 
Update from International Conference by attendees 
 
 
Beth
-18,000-20,000 attendees
-150 countries represented
-liked actress Geena Davis who worked to drive gender equality for movie producers 
-Bill gates to match $2 dollars for every $1 donated by rotary for Polio eradication
 
Rich
-noted combined strength and power of Rotary clubs
-noted the true spirit of rotary - everyone is happy, smiling, friendly and engaging
- many mental health sessions which Rich attended
-moving Ambassadors of Compassion ahead with McNally meeting
 
George
-met a lot of people from Africa and enjoyed hearing different perspective
-met members from 2 rotary clubs in Ukraine - One is asking for support for Medical supplies
 
Charles
-thanked Beth for hosting the first dinner for our attending club members
-impressed on the difference in language and dress - but still super engaged in the rotary mission
 
Sarah 
-rode public transit and met many different rotarian's from different clubs
-very impressed in the general session when everyone yelled "YAHOO"
