Today's Program Speaker was Sherri Souza, the President & CEO of Livermore Valley Chamber of Commerce (LVCC).
Their purpose is to enhance the business community in the Livermore Valley and they were founded in May 1937 as a 501(c)6. Thy currently have 400 members and the chair of their board is Kim Gruidl, from Fremont Bank.
Our very own club member John Freeman is on the Board of Directors made up of 20 business people with a broad representation of the business community.
Sherri manages a small, but mighty team of staff who execute the work of the organization.
LVCC is a business Member Organization, and it used to be just visitor services, with the chamber offices located right in the middle of Downtown. They have expanded their work scope extensively to better serve the business community, but still reside in the same Downtown location. They have recently spiffed up the building!
Their Chairman's Circle Membership includes the Mayor of Livermore and they host a Business Alliance meeting monthly on Zoom. They host a very popular Wine Country Luncheon Series, that uses various winery venues throughout the Summer and into early Autumn. On August 28 they will provide a Legislative Update, and the Agritourism luncheon will be the last luncheon in 2025.
The monthly "Mixer" for local businesses is well attended and is a part of the LVCC promotion and marketing efforts. This year they will launch the Leadership Livermore Alumni Reception for all graduates of their Leadership Livermore program.
Like other non-profits, fundraising is critically important in order for them to offer all of the services they provide. This year's event (back by popular demand) will be in December, and will feature bowling!
The LVCC features Ribbon Cutting ceremonies for new businesses as part of their promotional efforts and it's deeply appreciated. Look for their new App, a LivermoreMarketplace Mobile App, which just launched!
Thank you Sherri, and all of the staff at LVCC.
