DISTRICT 5170 HONORS US
Rotary Club of Livermore Valley President, Angelika Voss-Quinn was invited to lead the Pledge of Allegiance to launch the District 5170 Conference on April 22, 2022.
Our club was given this honor because we lead Area 4B in welcoming new members in 2021-22! Shout out to Membership Chair Graham Scott and to everyone who has shared the good news about Rotary and invited friends to attend our meetings.
ROTARIAN FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANTS
Our club joined with the Rotary Club of Livermore to award $94,951 in grants to 22 community organizations! The awards were presented at the April 20th meeting of the Noon Club. Pictured above are the recipients.
Special thanks to Bassant Abdelrahman (left) and Noon Club member Mary Anne Rozsa, who co-chaired the 2022 Grant Committee.
Mr. Hart introduced Adam as “the epitome of the unassuming, humble Clark Kent to the Superman that he is academically.” We understood the comparison when we learned that Adam’s 4.6 Grade Point Average reflects his success in multiple Advanced Placement courses. He has also earned the honor of being a National Merit Commended Scholar.
In addition to his outstanding academic record, Adam is involved in extracurricular activities including serving as co-captain of the Granada Tennis Team, co-president of the Chess Club, and as a Little League Baseball Umpire since 2016.
We were thrilled to be part of the 2022 RFL Literacy Project that allowed us to give over 1,900 books to each third and fourth grade student in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District! We joined with members of the noon club to visit 12 different schools and distribute the books to very excited students!
This project was a true community effort, partnering with the Livermore Library, Towne Center Books, the Rotarian Foundation of Livermore, and LVJUSD teachers, library specialists, and principals.

Suzanne Richerson's smile shows the joy we experienced when handing out books to students. We loved how some students hugged their books as they received them! They were thrilled to be able to choose a book of their very own. Some had never owned a hardcover book.
Rotary International continues to serve mothers and children throughout the world by providing prenatal clinics, cancer screening, immunizations, sanitation, and education.
