Their East Bay branch has been serving Alameda County since 1997. CALICO provides a safe, supportive space for forensic interviews of children who’ve experienced abuse, ensuring justice and reduce trauma. They also offer ongoing family support—connecting caregivers with mental-health resources to begin healing as early as possible.

The event will rally the entire community around the students’ Volunteer requirements are minimal, but we'd love to have most of our club participate to connect with other Tri Valley community leaders and special guests in attendance! This event raises awareness of the heartbreaking reality that 22 veterans lose their lives to suicide each day. Create teams, or join solo in competing in various 22 second challenges while sharing pictures using the hashtag #Challenge22forVeterans. Tri-Valley ROP Youth Innovation Program is looking for volunteers to help students at the alternative education high schools in Livermore, Dublin and Pleasanton gain mentorship, career awareness, financial literacy and the confidence to succeed after graduation. Your insight and experience make a serious difference for our students. Your involvement would be: Partner with a student mentee for 7 sessions between November 2025 and May 2026. Topics and activities are provided, but your impact will last far beyond high school. Other volunteer opportunities include: Career Speaker – Share your career journey and community involvement with one or more student groups. Career Conversationalist – Meet one-on-one with a student to discuss your education and career path. To participate, please complete the Volunteer Interest Form. The Xerces Society is seeking 10–12 more volunteers to support their Native Pollinator Habitat Kit distribution at Martial Cottle Park in San Jose. Volunteers are needed on Tuesday, October 20, and Wednesday, October 21, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (4-hour shifts available). Sign up here and fill out the volunteer waiver
What you'll do: You’ll help unload and sort native plants into kits that will go to schools, parks, farms, and community partners across California—restoring habitat for monarchs and other pollinators. Lunch is provided, and no experience is necessary. Important notes: Bring sturdy shoes, comfortable clothing, water, a hat, sunscreen, and any clothes appropriate for the weather. The National Anthem will be sung by US Army Combat Veteran and Las Positas Colleage alumni Mr. Donald McIntyre. We will meet at the VA Medical Facility in Livermore on Monday, December 15th at 10:45 A.M. The address is 4951 Arroyo Road, Livermore, at the Community Living Center (Building 90). There is signage throughout the VA parking lot to help direct you to Building 90.
The food is being delivered by Melo’s and includes three pasta dishes, bread, and salad. We will prep the food and serve it to the Vets. Our club will also provide cake, cookies, and drinks, which we will serve. The luncheon will take place in the main dining room.
Jerry Hawkins will lead us in our Christmas caroling.
For many talking with the Vets is the highlight of the luncheon. The Vets truly enjoy visiting with Rotarians and have lots of wonderful stories to share.
